Candle Bridges

My Candle Bridges are simple, yet sophisticated in appearance and are suitable for a variety of spaces. They are made with a single layer of glass, and have a lightness not possible in regular fused glass. I start with a sheet of top quality streaky art glass. I cut it to shape with glass cutting tools, and round over the edges with a glass grinder. I place the single layered piece on a mold in my kiln, and fire it to slump into the mold’s contours. Once it is cooled, I sandblast the bowl and rub in mineral oil to give it a lustrous, yet not shiny appearance. The glass I use is typically in streaky jewel tones, or black and white. I supply an unscented 2” pillar candle with the regular bridges, and four unscented 1-1/4” candles with the long bridges.
